In the Name of Allah, the Source of General Mercy to all Humanity, the Source of Specific Grace to the Believers

Peace be upon you O’ Aba ‘Abdillah; Peace be upon you O’ son of the Messenger of Allah; Peace be upon you O’ son of the Commander of the Faithful and the son of the leader of the inheritors (of the Prophet); Peace be upon you O’ son of Fatimah, the leader of the women of the entire Universe.

أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ أَمِيرِ الْـمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّينَ،أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسآءِ الْعالَـمِينَ،



Peace be upon you O’ the one who was killed and whose blood has not yet been avenged – and whose avenging is in the hands of Allah and peace be upon you, the son of one who was killed and whose blood has not yet been avenged (Imam ‘Ali b. Abi Talib) and peace be upon you O’ the one who was alone, an individual (killed). Peace be upon you and also upon those souls who accompanied you to your annihilation.

أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللّٰهِ وَابْنَ ثَارِهِ وَالْوِتْرَ الْـمَوْتُورَ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ وَعَلىٰ الأَرْوَاحِ الَّتِي حَلَّتْ بِفِنَآئِكَ،



Upon you and upon all of those (who were killed) is the Salam of Allah from me for eternity, as long as the night and the day remain.

عَلَيْكُمْ مِنِّي جَمِيعاً سَلاَمُ اللّٰهِ أَبَداً مَا بَقِيتُ وَبَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهارُ،



O’ Aba ‘Abdillah! Surely the tribulations are great and unbearable and your tragedy is great for us, and for all the people of Islam and unbearable and great is your tragedy in the heavens and for all of the dwellers of the heavens.

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ، لَقَدْ عَظُمَتِ الرَّزِيَّةُ وَجَلَّتْ وَعَظُمَتِ الْـمُصِيبَةُ بِكَ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلىٰ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِ الإِِسْلاَمِ، وَجَلَّتْ وَعَظُمَتْ مُصِيبَتُكَ فِي السَّمٰوَاتِ عَلىٰ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِ السَّمٰوَاتِ،



May the curse (La’n) be upon those people who laid down the foundations for the oppression and wrongs done upon you, the family of the Prophet [Ahlul Bayt].

فَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً أَسَّسَتْ أَسَاسَ الظُّلْمِ وَالْـجَوْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ



May Allah curse those people who denied you your position (O’ Ahlul Bayt) and removed you from your rank which Allah himself had granted you.

وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً دَفَعَتْكُمْ عَنْ مَقَامِكُمْ وَأَزَالَتْكُمْ عَنْ مَرَاتِبِكُمُ الَّتِي رَتَّبَكُمُ اللّٰهُ فِيهَا،

 

[جوجـــه طـــلا]

May the curse of Allah be upon those people who killed you and may the curse of Allah be upon those people who made it easy for them by preparing the grounds of your killing.

وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكُمْ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ الْـمُمَهِّدِينَ لَـهُمْ بِالتَّمْكِينِ مِنْ قِتَالِكُمْ،



I turn to Allah and I turn towards you and turn away from them and their adherents, followers and friends.

بَرِئْتُ إِلىٰ اللّٰهِ وَإِلَيْكُمْ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشْيَاعِهِمْ وَأَتْبَاعِهِمْ وَأَوْلِيَآئِهِمْ˛



O’ Aba ‘Abdillah! I am at peace with those who make peace with you and I am at war with those who make war with you until the Day of Judgment.

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ، إِنِّي سِلْمٌ لـِمَنْ سالَـمَكُمْ، وَحَرْبٌ لـِمَنْ حَارَبَكُمْ إِلىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ،



May the curse of Allah be upon the family of Ziyad and the family of Marwan and may the curse of Allah be upon Bani Umayyah.

وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ آلَ زِيَادٍ وَآلَ مَرْوَانَ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ بَنِي أُمَيَّةَ قَاطِبَةً،



May the curse of Allah be upon Ibn Marjana and may the curse of Allah be upon ‘‘Umar b. Sa’ad and may the curse of Allah be upon Shimr.

وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ ابْنَ مَرْجَانَةَ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ عُمَرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ، وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ شِـمْراً،



And may the curse of Allah be upon the nation that carried out, saw and were silent at your killing.

وَلَعَنَ اللّٰهُ أُمَّةً أَسْرَجَتْ وَأَلْـجَمَتْ وَتَنَقَّبَتْ لِقِتَالِكَ،

May my father and mother be sacrificed for you. Surely my sorrow for you is great and I pray to Allah who has honoured your status and has also honoured me through you that He grant me the opportunity to seek your revenge with the victorious Imam from the family of Muhammad.

بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي، لَقَدْ عَظُمَ مُصَابِي بِكَ، فَأَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِي أَكْرَمَ مَقَامَكَ، وَأَكْرَمَنِي بِكَ، أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِي طَلَبَ ثَارِكَ مَعَ إِمَامٍ مَنْصُورٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ.



O’ Allah! Make me worthy of respect with You through Husayn, peace be upon him, both in the transient world and also the next life.

أَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي عِنْدَكَ وَجِيهاً بِالْـحُسَيْنِ ˛ عَلَيهِ السَّلاَمُ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ،



O’ Aba ‘Abdillah! Surely I seek closeness to Allah and to His Messenger and to the Commander of the Faithful and to Fatimah and to Hasan and to you through love of you and through distancing myself from those who laid the foundations and those who built upon and carried out oppression and cruelty upon you all and upon your followers.

يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ، إِنِّي أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلىٰ اللّٰهِ، وَإِلىٰ رَسُولِهِ، وَإِلىٰ أَمِيرِ الْـمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَإِلىٰ فَاطِمَةَ، وَإِلىٰ الْـحَسَنِ، وَإِلَيْكَ بِـمُوَالاَتِكَ، وَبِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِـمَّـنْ قَاتَلَكَ، وَالْـجَوْرِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَأَبْرَأُ إِلىٰ اللّٰهِ وَإِلىٰ رَسُولِهِ مِـمَّنْ أَسَّسَ أَسَاسَ ذٰلِكَ وَ بَنىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُنْيَانَهُ، وَجَرىٰ فِي ظُلْمِهِ وَجَوْرِهِ عَلَيْكُمْ وَعَلىٰ أَشْيَاعِكُمْ،



I disassociate myself from them through Allah and through all of you and I seek nearness to Allah and then to you through love for you and your friends and disassociation with your enemies and from those who want to fight against you and disassociation from their adherents and followers.

بَرِئْتُ إِلىٰ اللّٰهِ وَإِلَيْكُمْ مِنْهُمْ، وَأَتَقَرَّبُ إِلىٰ اللّٰهِ ثُمَّ إِلَيْكُمْ بِـمُوَالاَتِكُمْ وَمُوَالاَةِ وَلِيِّكُمْ، وَبِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ، وَالنَّاصِبِينَ لَكُمُ الْـحَرْبَ، وَبِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْ أَشْيَاعِهِمْ وَأَتْبَاعِهِمْ،



Surely I am at peace with those who are at peace with you and I am at war with those who are at war with you and I am a friends to those who are friends to you and I am an enemy to those who are enemies to you.

إِنِّي سِلْمٌ لـِمَنْ سَالَـمَكُمْ، وَحَرْبٌ لِـمَنْ حَارَبَكُمْ، وَوَلِيٌّ لـِمَنْ وَالاَكُمْ، وَعَدُوٌّ لِـمَنْ عَادَاكُمْ،



So then I ask Allah who has honoured me with a cognizance of all of you and a cognizance of your friends that He also grant me the opportunity to disassociate myself from your enemies and that He place me with you – both in the transient world and also in the next life – and that he make me firm in your presence with a truthful stance both in the transient world and also the next life.

فَأَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِي أَكْرَمَنِي بِـمَعْرِفَتِكُمْ، وَمَعْرِفَةِ أَوْلِيَآئِكُمْ، وَرَزَقَنِي الْبَرَاءَةَ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكُمْ، أَنْ يَـجْعَلَنِي مَعَكُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، وَأَنْ يُثَبِّتَ لِي عِنْدَكُمْ قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ

 

[جوجـــه طـــلا]

And I ask Him (Allah) that He enables me to reach to the honoured station with you in the presence of Allah and that He grant me the ability to seek the revenge of you with the rightly guided Imam from you, who shall surely come and speak the truth.

وَأَسْأَلُهُ أَنْ يُبَلِّغَنِي الْـمَقامَ الْـمَحْمُودَ لَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ، وَأَنْ يَرْزُقَنِي طَلَبَ ثَارِي مَعَ إِمَامِ هُدىً ظَاهِرٍ نَاطِقٍ بِالْـحَقِّ مِنْكُمْ،



And I ask Allah for your sake and for the status and rank which you have with Him that He grant me that thing due to me showing grief and sorrow at your sorrows even more than of that which he gives in a person’s own grief and sorrows, and what great sorrow and tragedies you faced! How great was your tragedy for Islam and for all of the inhabitants of the heavens and the Earth!

وَأَسْأَلُ اللّٰهَ بِـحَقِّكُمْ وَبِالشَّأْنِ الَّذِي لَكُمْ عِنْدَهُ أَنْ يُعْطِيَنِي بِـمُصَابِي بِكُمْ أَفْضَلَ مَا يُعْطِي مُصَاباً بِـمُصِيبَتِهِ، مُصِيبَةً مَا أَعْظَمَها وَأَعْظَمَ رَزِيَّتَهَا فِي الإِسْلاَمِ وَفِي جَمِيعِ السَّمٰوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ.



O’ Allah! Make me at this moment, one who receives from You prayers, mercy and forgiveness.

أَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي مَقَامِي هٰذَا مـِمَّنْ تَنَالُهُ مِنْكَ صَلَواتٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ وَمَغْفِرَةٌ،



O’ Allah! Make me live the life of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and permit me to die the death of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

أَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ مَـحْيَايَ مَـحْيَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَمَـمَاتِي مَـمَاتَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ.



O’ Allah! This is the day (the Day of ‘Ashura) which the Bani Umayyah rejoiced upon (and is the day when the) son of the liver eater (the son of Hind b. Abu Sufyan – Mu’awiyah and his son Yazid) celebrated, the cursed son(s) (Yazid) of the cursed (Mu’awiyah), as said by You and Your Prophet at every place and occasion.

أَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّ هٰذَا يَوْمٌ تَبَرَّكَتْ بِهِ بَنُو أُمَيَّةَ وَابْنُ آكِلَةِ الأَكْبَادِ، اللَّعِينُ ابْنُ اللَّعِينِ عَلىٰ لِسَانِكَ وَلِسَانِ نَبِيِّكَ فِي كُلِّ مَوْطِنٍ وَمَوْقِفٍ وَقَفَ فِيهِ نَبِيُّكَ.



O’ Allah! Curse Abu Sufyan and Mu’awiyah and Yazid b. Mu’awiyah – upon them may Your curse be forever and eternity. And this is the day when the family of Ziyad were happy and so were the family of Marwan at their killing of Husayn, may the Prayers of Allah be upon him. O’ Allah! Increase upon them Your curse and (Your) painful punishment.

أَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ وَيَزِيدَ بْنَ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْكَ اللَّعْنَةُ أَبَدَ الأَبِدِينَ، وَهٰذَا يَوْمٌ فَرِحَتْ بِهِ آلُ زِيَادٍ وَآلُ مَرْوَانَ بِقَتْلِهِمُ الْـحُسَيْنَ صَلَواتُ اللّٰهِ عَلَيْهِ. أَللّٰهُمَّ فَضَاعِفْ عَلَيْهِمُ اللَّعْنَ مِنْكَ وَالْعَذابَ الأَلِيمَ.



O’ Allah! Surely I seek nearness to you on this day (the Day of ‘Ashura) and in this place (which I am in) and in all days of my life by disassociating myself from these people and sending curses upon them and through my love and friendship to Your Prophet and the family of Your Prophet, peace be upon him and upon all of them.

أَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَقَرَّبُ إِلَيْكَ فِي هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ، وَفِي مَوْقِفِي هٰذَا، وَأَيَّامِ حَيَاتِي بِالْبَرَاءَةِ مِنْهُمْ، وَاللَّعْنَةِ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَبِالْـمُوَالاَةِ لِنَبِيِّكَ وَآلِ نَبِيِّكَ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ.



O’ Allah! Curse the first tyrant who oppressed the right of Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and the next person who followed him on this path. O’ Allah! Curse the group who fought against Husayn and those who followed them and supported them and assisted them in killing him. O’ Allah, curse all of them!

أَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ أَوَّلَ ظَالِمٍ ظَلَمَ حَقَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآخِرَ تَابِعٍ لَهُ عَلىٰ ذٰلِكَ. أَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنِ الْعِصَابَةَ الَّتِي جَاهَدَتِ الْـحُسَيْنَ وَشَايَعَتْ وَبَايَعَتْ وَتَابَعَتْ عَلىٰ قَتْلِهِ، أَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْهُمْ جَمِيعاً.

Peace be upon you O’ Aba ‘Abdillah and upon the souls which were annihilated with you. Upon you, from me, is the peace of Allah for eternity, as long as the night and the day remain and please do not make this (Ziyarat) as my last contact with you. Greetings be upon Husayn, and upon ‘Ali the son of Husayn and upon the children of Husayn and upon the companions of Husayn.

أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ وَعَلىٰ الأَرْوَاحِ الَّتِي حَلَّتْ بِفِنَآئِكَ، عَلَيْكَ مِنِّي سَلاَمُ اللّٰهِ أَبَداً مَا بَقِيتُ وَبَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ، وَلاَ جَعَلَهُ اللّٰهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي لِزِيَارَتِكُمْ، أَلسَّلاَمُ عَلىٰ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ أَوْلاَدِ الْـحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلىٰ أَصْحَابِ الْـحُسَيْنِ.



O’ Allah! Particularly curse the first tyrant, a curse from me, and begin the first curse with him and then send the curse on the second and the third and then the forth (tyrant). O’ Allah curse Yazid, the fifth (tyrant) and curse ‘Ubaydullah b. Ziyad and Ibne Marjanah and ‘‘Umar b. Sa’d and Shimr and the family of Sufyan and the family of Ziyad and the family of Marwan until the day of Judgement.

أَللّٰهُمَّ خُصَّ أَنْتَ أَوَّلَ ظالِمٍ بِاللَّعْنِ مِنِّي، وَابْدَأْ بِهِ أَوَّلاً، ثُمَّ الْعَنِ الثَّانِيَ وَالثَّالِثَ وَالرَّابِعَ. أَللّٰهُمَّ الْعَنْ يَزِيدَ خَامِساً، وَالْعَنْ عُبَيْدَ اللّٰه ِبْنَ زِيادٍ وَابْنَ مَرْجَانَةَ وَعُمَرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ وَشِـمْراً وَآلَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ وَآلَ زِيَادٍ وَآلَ مَرْوَانَ إِلىٰ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ.



O’ Allah! To you belongs the praise, the praise of those who are thankful to You for their tribulations. All Praise belongs to Allah for my intense grief. O’ Allah, grant me the blessing of intercession of Husayn on the Day of Appearance (before You) and strengthen me with a truthful stand in Your presence along with Husayn and the companions of Husayn – those people who sacrificed everything for Husayn, peace be upon him.

أَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْـحَمْدُ حَمْدَ الشَّاكِرِينَ لَكَ عَلىٰ مُصَابِهِمْ. أَلْـحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ عَلىٰ عَظِيمِ رَزِيَّتِي. أَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي شَفَاعَةَ الْـحُسَيْنِ يَوْمَ الْوُرُودِ، وَ ثَبِّتْ لِي قَدَمَ صِدْقٍ عِنْدَكَ مَعَ الْـحُسَيْنِ وَأَصْحَابِ الْـحُسَيْنِ الَّذِينَ بَذَلُوا مُهَجَهُمْ دُونَ الْحُسَيْنِ˛ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ.

Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah

Peace be on you, O son of the Apostle of Allah!

Peace be on you, O son of the commander of the faithfuls, the forebear of the successors!

Peace be on you, O son of Fatimah, the choicest among the women of the worlds!

Peace be on you, O the select, surpassing, chosen in preference over all good of Allah, and son of Allah’s (such) good.

Peace be on you, who was martyred while fighting heroically in the cause of Allah, the son of Allah’s fearless warrior, you were isolated and had been attacked with a vengeance!

Peace be on you and on those souls who had gathered in your camp, and strided along with you, in your journey. I pray and invoke Allah to keep all of you tranquil and restful, for ever; so far I am alive, this is my prayer, and till nights and days follow each other.

O Abu Abdullah! unbearable is the sorrow, nerve-racking is the agony, you put up with,

for us and for all the (true) Muslims, crimes committed against you also shocked and unnerved the dwellers of the heavens, one and all.

May Allah condemn and damn the people who laid the basis and set up the groundwork,

to wander astray and turn aside from not only you and your family but to take liberties and bear hard upon you.

May Allah condemn and damn the people who tried to obscure and deny your office and status, willfully neglected your rank and class Allah had made know in clear terms. May Allah condemn and damn the people who killed you.

May Allah condemn and damn the abettors who instigated and had a part in your murder. I turn to you and Allah, away from them, their henchmen, their followers and their friends,

O Abu Abdullah, I pray and invoke Allah to send blessings on you. I make peace with those who make their peace with you,

I make war on those who go to war against you, till the Day of Judgement.

May Allah condemn and damn the family of Ziyaad and the family of Marwaan;

may Allah condemn and damn the group and the tribe of Umayyah, one and all, altogether;

may Allah condemn and damn the son of Marjaanah;

may Allah condemn and damn Umar son of Saad;

may Allah condemn and damn Shimr;

may Allah condemn and damn the people who bridled the horses and errected the saddles for your martyrdom. I, my father and mother are at your disposal. Profound is my sorrow for you.

I beg Allah, who honoured you above others, to be generous towards me on account of you, and give me the opportunity to be with the victorious Imam, the descendent of Mohammad (blessings and peace be on him and on his children from Allah) at the time of the final and decisive war against Allah’s enemies.

O my Allah make me attend to Your cause, sincerely, in every respect following in Husayn’s footsteps, in this world and the hereafter. O Abu Abdullah, I pray and invoke Allah to send blessings on you.

I come nearer and seek greater intimacy with Allah, with His Apostle, with Ameerul Moomineen, with Fatimah, with Hasan and with you, with the help of your love and patronage, cutting off every connection with those who took up arms against you and killed you.

I disconnect all links with those who, in the beginning, took the first steps to take liberties with and bear hard upon you, I take refuge with Allah and His Apostle (blessings of Allah be on him and on his children), free from the guilt of associating with those who laid the foundation for (your suffering), devised and carried out their corrupt plan of action, boldly gave currency to reign of terror and cruelty to oppress you and your friends and followers;

I detach myself from them and present myself to Allah and to you, I (first) seek greater intimacy with Allah and then with you to win your love and patronage, and to make friends with your friends, cut off all links with your enemies, and with those who planted the seeds of hostility against you, and reject and discard their associates, their followers and their friends.

I make peace with those who made their peace with you, I search out and confront those who waged war against you, I make friends with those who stood by you, I strive against those who came in conflict with you, therefore, I make a request to Allah to acquaint (me) with the awareness that perceives you and your friends, to set me free from the corrupting influence of your enemies, to make me keep company with you in this would and in the Hereafter, stand firm beside you and follow your footsteps closely in this world and in the next world.

I beseech Him that he helps me to reach your highly praised station, given to you by Allah, (to meet you), that He provides me the opportunity to fight for justice and fairplay alongwith and under the leadership of the rightly guided guide (in your progeny) who surely will come and speak the truth.

I beseech Allah in the name of your right and the purpose He assigned to you, that He overwhelms me with grief in memory of your sorrows, more than the personal grief that torments any one who is in great agony, sorrows which have no parallel and overshadow all calamities that took place in the history of Islam, for that matter, through out the whole universe.

O my Allah, in my on the spot situation, treat me like him (or her) who obtains from You (Your) blessings, mercy and forgiveness.

O my Allah, bring me to life again, after death, in the place Mohammad and his “Aal” (children) are dwelling, and make me depart from this world like Mohammad and his “Aal” (children) had left,

O my Allah this day is a day of rejoicing for the “Bani Umayyah”, the herd of hardened criminals, the eternally damned and accursed group, a fact that had been made public by You and by Your Prophet (blessings of Allah be on him and on his children), who, in every place and at all occasions, drew attention of people to this truism.

O my Allah condemn and damn Abu Sufyaan, Yazid son of Muwa’awiyah and let it be an everlasting curse upon tem from You. Today the descendants of Ziyaad and Marwan make merry, laugh and dance because on this day they killed Husayn (blessings of Allah be on him).

O my Allah, therefore, double up the curse You brings upon them and also the punishment You decrees for them.

O my Allah, I seek nearness to You today in this frame of mind, cutting off all links with them for the rest of my life, denouncing them because of my love for Your Prophet and his children, peace be on him and them.

Then again say 100 times:

O my Allah condemn and damn the first tyrant who unjustly and wrongfully usurped that which rightly belonged to Mohammad and thechildren of Mohammad, and bring curse upon those who, after him, followed in his footsteps.

O my Allah condemn and damn those conspirators who vexed and harassed Husayn, showed eagerness, agreed mutually, and joined hands to kill him. O my Allah bring curse upon all of them.

Then again say 100 times:

Peace be on you, O Abu Abdullah, and on those souls who came to your camp to put themselves at your disposal.

So far I am alive and the days and nights follow each other I invoke Allah to send blessings on you for ever and ever.

May Allah not make my this pledge of close association, physical as well as spiritual, with you the last fulfillment.

Peace be on Husayn, and on Ali son of Husayn, and on the children of Husayn, and on the friends of Husayn.

Then say:

O my Allah, let the curse I call down on the head of the first tyrant stick like a leech; and stay put for ever on the first, then the second, the third and the fourth.

O my Allah damn and call down evil on the fifth, Yazid son of Mua’awyah, and bring a curse upon Ubaydullah son of Ziyaad, ibna Marjanah, Umar son of Saad, and Shimr, and on the descendants of Abu Sufyaan, on the descendants of Ziyaad, on the descendants of Marwaan, till the Day of judgement.

Then go is Sajdah and say:

O my Allah! (All) praise is for You (alone); praise of the “Ever-thankful to You”, who glorify You whatever come to pass. (All) praise is for Allah for my deep-felt intense grief. O my Allah make available for me the recommendations of Husayn on the day I present myself before You, let me stand firm in safety before You on account of my sincere attachment with Husayn, alongwith him and his comrades, who sacrificed everything they had (heart, mind, soul and life) for Husayn, peace be on him

متن زیارت عاشورا به زبان فارسی

سلام بر تو اى ابا عبد اللَّه؛ سلام بر تو اى فرزند رسول خدا؛ سلام بر تو اى فرزند امیر المؤمنین و اى فرزند سیّد اوصیا؛ سلام بر تو اى فرزند فاطمه زهرا سیّده زنان اهل عالم؛ سلام بر تو اى کسى که از خون پاک تو و پدر بزرگوارت خدا انتقام مى‏کشد؛ و از ظلم و ستم وارد بر تو دادخواهى مى‏کند. سلام بر تو و بر ارواح پاکى که در حرم مطهرت با تو مدفون شدند. بر جمیع شما تا ابد از من درود و تحیت و سلام خدا باد. تا دلیل و نهار در جهان بر قرار است. اى ابا عبد اللَّه همانا تعزیتت (در عالم) بزرگ و مصیبتت در جهان بر ما شیعیان و تمام اهل اسلام سخت و عظیم و ناگوار و دشوار بود. و تحمل آن مصیبت بزرگ در آسمانها بر جمیع اهل سموات نیز سخت و دشوار بود. پس خدا لعنت کند امتى که اساس ظلم و ستم را بر شما اهل بیت رسول بنیاد کردند و خدا لعنت کند امتى را که شما را از مقام و مرتبه (خلافت) خود منع کردند و رتبه‏ هایى که خدا مخصوص به شما گردانیده بود، از شما گرفتند.

خدا لعنت کند آن امتى که شما را کشتند و خدا لعنت کند آن مردمى را که از امراى ظلم و جور براى قتال با شما اطاعت کردند. من به سوى خدا و به سوى شما از آن ظالمان و شیعیان آنها و پیروان و دوستانشان بیزارى مى‏جویم. اى ابا عبد اللَّه من تا قیامت سلم و صلحم با هر که با شما صلح است و در جنگ و جهادم با هر که با شما در جنگ است. خدا لعنت کند آل زیاد و آل مروان را. و خدا لعنت کند بنىامیه را تمامی و لعنت کند پسر مرجانه را و لعنت کند عمر سعد را و خدا لعنت کند شمر را. و خدا لعنت کند گروهى را که اسبها را براى جنگ با حضرتت زین و لگام کردند و بر تو بناگاه هجوم آوردند و براى جنگ با تو مهیا گشتند. پدر و مادرم فداى تو باد؛ تحمل حزن و مصیبت بر من به واسطه ظلم و ستمى که بر شما رفته سخت دشوار است. پس از خدایى که مقام تو را گرامى داشت و مرا هم به واسطه دوستى تو عزّت بخشید از او درخواست می کنم که روزى من گرداند تا با امام منصور از اهل بیت محمد صلى اللَّه علیه وآله خون خواه تو باشم. پروردگارا مرا به واسطه حضرت حسین نزد خود در دو عالم وجیه و آبرومند گردان.

اى ابا عبد اللَّه من به درگاه خدا تقرب جسته و به درگاه رسولش و به نزد حضرت فاطمه و حضرت حسن و به حضرت تو قرب مى‏طلبم به واسطه محبت و دوستى تو. و بیزارى از کسانى که اساس و پایه ظلم و بیداد را بر شما بنا نهادند و بیزارم از پیروان آنها و به درگاه خدا و نزد شما اولیاء خدا از آن مردم ستمکار ظالم بیزارى مى‏جویم و اول به درگاه خدا؛ سپس نزد شما تقرب مى‏جویم به سبب دوستى شما و دوستى دوستان شما و به سبب بیزارى جستن از دشمنان شما. و بیزارى از مردمى که با شما به جنگ و مخالفت برخاستند و از شیعیان و پیروان آنها هم بیزارى می جویم. اى بزرگواران من سلم و صلحم با هر کس که با شما صلح است و در جنگ و مخالفتم با هر کس که با شما به جنگ است و دوستم با دوستان شما و دشمنم با دشمنان شما. پس از کرامت حق درخواست مى‏کنم به معرفت شما و دوستان شما مرا گرامى سازد و همیشه بیزارى از دشمنان شما را روزى من فرماید و مرا در دنیا و آخرت با شما قرار دهد.

و در دو عالم به مقام صدق و صفاى با شما مرا ثابت بدارد و باز از خدا درخواست می کنم که به مقام محمودى که خاص شما است مرا برساند. و مرا نصیت کند که در رکاب امام زمان شما اهلبیت، که هادى و ظاهر شونده ناطق به حق است؛ خون خواه باشم. و از خدا به حق شما و به شأن و مقام تقرب شما نزد خدا در خواست مى‏کنم، که ثواب غم و حزن و اندوه مرا به واسطه مصیبت بزرگ شما، بهترین ثوابى که به هر مصیبت زده‏اى عطا مى‏کند به من آن ثواب را عطا فرماید. و مصبت شما آل محمد در عالم اسلام بلکه در تمام عالم سماوات و ارض چقدر بزرگ بود و بر عزادارانش تا چه حد سخت و ناگوار گذشت. پروردگارا مرا در این مقام که هستم از آنان قرار ده که درود و رحمت و مغفرتت شامل حال آنها است. پروردگارا مرا به آیین محمد و آل اطهارش زنده بدار و گاه رحلت هم به آن آیین بمیران

پروردگارا این روز؛ روزى است که مبارک می دانستند آن را بنى امیه و پسر جگر خوار و یزید پلید لعین، پسر معاویه ملعون در زبان تو و زبان رسول تو صلى اللَّه علیه و آله در هر مسکن و منزل که رسول تو توقف داشت (همه جا او را به لعن یاد کرد). پرورگارا لعنت فرست بر ابى سفیان و بر پسرش معاویه و پسرش یزید پلید. بر همه آنان لعن ابدى فرست و این روز (عاشورا) روزى است که آل زیاد بن ابیه لعین و آل مروان بن حکم خبیث، به واسطه قتل حضرت حسین صلوات اللَّه علیه شادان بودند. پروردگارا تو لعن و عذاب الیم آنان را چندین برابر گردان. پروردگارا من به تو در این روز و در این مکان و در تمام دوران زندگانى به بیزارى جستن و لعن بر آن ظالمان و دشمنى آنها و بدوستى پیغمبر وآل اطهار او تقرّب می جویم.

پروردگارا تو لعنت فرست بر اوّل ظالمى که در حق محمد و آل پاکش صلوات الله علیهم ظلم و ستم کرد. و آخرین ظالمى که از آن ظالم نخستین در ظلم تبعیّت کرد. پروردگارا تو بر جماعتى که بر علیه حضرت حسین بجنگ برخاستند لعنت فرست و بر شیعیانشان و بر هر که با آنان بیعت کرد و از آنها پیروى کرد. خدایا بر همه لعنت فرست.

سلام بر تو اى ابا عبد اللَّه و بر ارواح پاکى که فانی در وجود تو شدند. سلام خدا از من بشما باد الىالابد مادامى که شب و روزی برقرار و باقى است و خدا این زیارت مرا آخرین عهد با حضرتت قرار ندهد. سلام بر حضرت حسین و بر حضرت على بن الحسین و بر فرزندان حسین و بر اصحاب حسین.

پروردگارا تو لعنت مرا مخصوص گردان باولین شخص ظالم و اول در حق اولین ظالم و آنگاه در حق دومین و سوّمین و چهارمین. پروردگارا و آنگاه لعنت فرست بر یزید پنجم آن ظالمان و باز لعنت فرست بر عبید اللَّه بن زیاد پسر مرجانه و عمر سعد و شمر و آل ابى سفیان و آل زیاد و آل مروان تا روز قیامت.

خدایا ترا ستایش مى کنم بستایش شکر گزاران تو؛ برغم اندوهى که بمن در مصیبت رسید. سپاس خدا را، بر عزادارى و اندوه و غم بزرگ من. پروردگارا شفاعت حضرت حسین را روزى که بر تو وارد می شوم نصیبم بگردان. و مرا نزد خود ثابت قدم بدار به صدق و صفا در روزى که بر تو وارد می شوم؛ با حضرت حسین و اصحابش که در راه خدا جانشان را نزد حسین فدا کردند (همنشین) باشم.
